Our Welding Training Programmes

Who Should Attend?

  • Companies involved in the manufacturing process (engineering area)
  • Companies involved in the fit-out of new or modifying processing plants
  • Companies with maintenance staff – up-skilling on what they have and multi-skilling of other trade employees e.g. electrician

Welding Academy is also involved in the training of individuals who want to excel themselves further in their job or for those who want to help their job prospects.

MAG/MIG WELDING

The most common form of welding used in general engineering.  The problem with MAG/MIG Welding is that it is relatively easy to leave what “looks” like a good weld.

Aim: –     Through theory and practical training, improve the knowledge and ability of the employee to produce a quality weld.  Can bring employees up to EN9606
standard and have them certified.

TIG WELDING

This is used mostly on stainless steel in the hygiene and chemical areas and also in areas of high quality finish (handrails etc.).  Relatively easy to use with the right techniques.

Aim: –     Through theory and practical training, improve the knowledge and ability of the employee to produce a quality weld.  Can bring employees up to EN9606
standard and have them certified.

ARC WELDING

Most frequently used on maintenance work in factories, on-site and some one-off repair jobs in workshops.  The most skilled of all the welding methods and when completed strongly and neatly it looks very impressive.  It is also the welding method most likely to be used in numerous positions – Horizontal Vertical and Vertical etc.  This is where you need to have a good technique to end up with a good result.

Aim: –     Through theory and practical training, improve the knowledge and ability of the employee to produce a quality weld.  Can bring employees up to EN9606 standard and have them certified.

TACK WELDING

Tack Welding is a necessary starting step in the fabrication of most jobs before they are welded.  The actual Tack Weld itself is a small part of the overall project, but if not completed correctly they can cause major failures in the project.  Tack Weld problems occur when they are improperly made. Quality is as important in the Tack Weld as in the final weld.

Aim: –     Through theory and practical training, improve the knowledge and ability of the employee to produce a quality tack weld.  Can bring employees up to EN standard and have them certified.

OXY-ACETYLENE

Oxy-Acetylene Programme Objectives

1. Identify the Safety Hazards Associated with Oxy-Acetylene (Propane) Cutting & it’s Equipment

2. List the procedure to be followed when setting up and using the equipment

3. Be able to use the equipment to make jobs to a high standards

General Safety Programme Objectives

WELD TESTING

We can train you or your staff up to test standard if required.  Set-up Welding Test, Monitoring and Removal of test pieces, deliver test pieces to test Centre.  Testing is carried out at your premises in a relaxed atmosphere getting the best from everyone.

What others say about us…

Bartie has proven himself to be number one when it comes to taking people to the next level.  He is highly skilled in theory and practical.  His presentations which he provides, was something all the welders found it something they could relate to.

We have found Bartie to be an excellent Tutor in both practical and theory.  All of the welders he has worked with have improved in all aspects of their job i.e. weld quality, appearance, speed and overall finish.

I found Bartie to be very helpful and very positive minded in which his positivity spread onto me and helped me to achieve excellent results.

Welding Academy course design is outstanding and the enthusiasm and dedication with the feedback to me was second to none.  Many thanks.
